When I was a kid watching the Iron Man movies, I decided to major in Computer Science because I was told that would be a great degree to folloe in Tony Stark's footsteps. I wanted to do my part in making all the stuff Tony Stark was able to do in Iron Man 1/2 a reality.
Ever since I've been in this major I've learned key concepts, such as algorithms & data structures while applying those concepts in projects. Some of what I've learned includes: C++, Java, Python, Unit Testing, and Version Control.
Going through college as a CS major, I learned just how many different fields that one term encompasses. I wasn't sure which path to follow so I chose "Mobile Programming" as one of my electives to see how I vibed with it. I ended up liking the class a lot and realized app development would be a great skill to have.
I learned Android Studio and android app development concepts utilizing the Java programming language. I plan to take an online course that teaches ios app development as well.
Journeying through college as a CS major I found struggled somewhat finding an avenue I really enjoyed when it came to the major. But just like with app development, I found that I enjoyed front-end website devlopment more than other areas of the field.
I've been exposed to the basics of web development at East Bay and continue to further my knowledege in the field by taking an online web dev course. Some of what I've learned inlcudes: Bootstrap, CSS, HTML, & JavaScript.
Through my school I was able to get an internship at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. It was there I developed an array of skills and got a taste of what it was like in the day of a scientist.
My job there was to produce 2 videos based on different aspects of the lab and its research. Some of what I learned/devloped includes: Adobe Premiere Pro, Communication, Interviewing, & PowerDirector.
